Summary

Adults only wellness retreat in UNESCO Blaenavon on the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons. Stay in a luxury king bedroom overlooking the relaxation patio, with private bathroom & WiFi. Relax and unwind in our heated outdoor pool, sauna & ice bath (heat, cold, repeat), plus optional treatments from our fully qualified wellness practitioner offering Pilates, Structural Integration, Craniosacral therapy, Oncology & Sports massage. Enjoy award-winning Welsh wines & spirits from the gazebo bar.

Access

Guests have full use of the wellness patio and your guest sunroom, Both overlooking the patio, plus shared use of the kitchen, including your own fridge if you want to self cater.

Outside, you have access to the wellness patio with heated outdoor pool, sauna, ice bath, loungers, cabana, gazebo bar and outdoor dining areas.

We also provide wood for our BBQ for a small additional charge and you are also able to book a Pizza making experience in our outdoor brick pizza oven.

Various wellness treatments plus Matwork and Equipment Pilates are available to book with our on site wellness practitioner as optional extras.

There is plenty of free onsite parking available.

Either Mark or Andy (or both) will be here to greet you on arrival.

We’ll happily give you a quick guided tour of the facilities or let you explore yourself, the choice is yours.

After that, the retreat is yours to enjoy.

We’re always nearby if you need us and are happy to help, but we’ll leave you to relax and make the space your own.

Neighbourhood

Blaenavon is a historic Welsh mining town in a dramatic UNESCO World Heritage landscape, ideal for guests who love walking, cycling, fresh air and a sense of history. From the retreat you are close to Big Pit, Blaenavon Ironworks and the Heritage Railway, so it is easy to mix time in nature with time exploring local culture.

The retreat sits on the edge of town on the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons, so it feels peaceful and green while still being within easy reach of shops, cafes and everyday essentials. It is a great base for hiking and cycling routes, scenic drives, reservoirs and viewpoints, or gentler strolls to local ponds and heritage sites.

Food lovers will find plenty of places in the surrounding area to enjoy Welsh produce, from relaxed cafes to more refined dining. Whether your day is spent on the trails, sightseeing or browsing local markets, you come back to a calm, grown up base with big skies, starlit nights and nature all around.

Space

Bedroom
You will stay in a light, airy, deluxe king bedroom on the first floor overlooking the wellness patio. Expect hotel quality bedlinen, extra pillows, WiFi, a SMART TV, fans for warmer days and tea and coffee making facilities. We also provide comfy, warm bathrobes and extra towels for you to use between the pool, sauna and ice bath, plus a few local Welsh treats as a welcome.

Bathroom
Your private bathroom is next door to the bedroom and for your use only. It has a large corner bath and separate large shower, basin and toilet, along with soft towels so you can enjoy hotel style comfort during your stay.

Sunroom
Your private sunroom on the ground floor overlooks the wellness patio and is a peaceful place to read or enjoy a drink. There are comfortable chairs, books to borrow and relaxing views across the pool area.

Wellness Patio and Garden
Outside is the heart of the retreat. You have access to the heated (Easter to late Summer) outdoor pool, Sauna and Ice bath, plus loungers, a shaded cabana, gazebo bar and outdoor seating areas. The garden and surrounding trees add to the feeling of being close to nature.

Wellness Suite
Our Wellness Suite is a calm, private studio just off the main house, set up for one to one work with our on site practitioner, Mark. The space is light and uncluttered, with professional Pilates equipment and a treatment couch so sessions can move smoothly from assessment and movement to hands on therapy. It is ideal if you want to ease long term niggles, support recovery from illness, surgery or PTSD, manage stress or simply deepen your sense of rest and wellbeing during your stay.
